Juventus defender responds to Milan transfer links: “I’ve never asked to leave”

Andrea Cambiaso has poured cold water on the AC Milan rumours by claiming he is happy at Juventus, but did leave the door slightly open.

Milan seem to be in the midst of a summer reset, and one of the positions that they have been tipped to make moves in is the left-back role. Theo Hernandez is seemingly on his way out, with just 12 months left on his deal and interest from both Atletico Madrid and Al-Hilal.

In terms of replacements, Cambiaso is among the names that has been linked most insistently. He can play on either flank and is someone that the new head coach knows well, but it would be hard to take a starter from a direct rival.

Cambiaso responds

Cambiaso gave an interview to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport and he was asked about his future, more specifically the rumours about him reuniting with Massimiliano Allegri at Milan.

“I haven’t received any calls, maybe my agents have. The only certainly in life is death, but I’m happy here. I haven’t spoken to Tudor, but I know the club and the coach are crazy about me,” he said (via MilanPress).

“I feel everyone’s trust, I’m happy in Turin and I’ve never asked to leave. From a personal and mental point of view, I’ve made great progress. It’s been a difficult season for me too, the second part didn’t go the way I wanted, but now I’ve put it all behind me.

“Now I feel good and my condition will improve with the games. I’ve had physical problems that have affected me heavily, but nothing more, I’m 25 and I play for Juventus, I don’t have any other problems.”
