Kalulu insists Kane won’t keep him awake tonight and addresses ‘fake news’ surrounding Milan

AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu has branded rumours of tension in the dressing room as ‘fake news’ and insisted he will not be kept up tonight by the thought of facing Harry Kane.

Milan have not had the best of starts to 2023 and speculation started spreading on social media about potential infighting within the squad because of the difficult run of results that culminated in seven matches without a win.

Captain Davide Calabria felt the need to speak out on behalf of the squad and posted a message on his Instagram story to address some of the stories aimed at the team, referring to them as ‘innumerable falsehoods’.

Kalulu was interviewed by SportMediaset on the eve of the game against Spurs in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 clash, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

On the match: “We want to go through to the quarter-finals. It will be a difficult and tough match, but we’ve prepared well.”

On the change of formation and the three-man defence: “The defensive attitude changes, while in the build-up phase we have always done it with a three-man.”

On his flexibility: “It’s one of my strengths. I want to do my best on the pitch and be at the top level.”

On the defensive phase: “The results show that things are going better. Then I don’t know if it’s thanks to the formation, or our attitude which is changing. Or maybe we have a little luck. There are many things that are going better and therefore the results are better too.”

On the dressing room: “Many things have come out, they are all fake news. It’s just gossip, I don’t know where these rumors came from”.

On the possibility of scoring goals: “If there’s a chance, I’ll do it. Everyone has their own role.”

On Kane: “Will I sleep before facing him? I always sleep before playing (laughs).”

I’ve been telling ppl we already play 3 ATB in the attacking phase. The “formation change” was a good ploy by Pioli to keep the formation enthusiasts happy
