Kalulu talks Scudetto parade and jokes about Ibrahimovic’s celebration

Pierre Kalulu, coming off his breakthrough season, is enjoying life as a champion of Italy. Despite his recent success in the centre of Milan’s defence, he has always remained humble in his interviews.

The ability to stay on the ground, focused on the goal, has been Kalulu’s biggest strength this season. He has performed on a consistently high level throughout and it’s not exactly strange that Milan want to renew his contract (with a pay rise included).

Speaking to Telefoot, as cited by MilanNews, Kalulu spoke about the celebrations that followed their win against Sassuolo last weekend. He also talked about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s celebration with the cigar before the trophy ceremony.

On the parade in the city…

“From the bus, you saw people aged 50-60, mothers, fathers, children, adults… It was enough to look at them in the crowd to realise that we had changed their day, their week, their month.”

On Ibra’s celebration with the cigar…

“He’s crazy! No, I’m kidding… Let’s say he has audacity. If I had done it, the effect certainly wouldn’t have been the same.”

It remains to be seen if Kalulu will keep his starting spot for next season, as Sven Botman could arrive from Lille. Given how well he has played lately, and the partnership with Fikayo Tomori, it would be foolish to bench him.
