Kalulu admits Udinese are ‘difficult’ to face but Milan will ‘play our game’

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of AC Milan’s season opener against Udinese, set to kick off in less than 40 minutes, Pierre Kalulu shared his thoughts on the Rossoneri’s form. He made it clear that there is great optimism.

Being the reigning champions, there will be an extra load of pressure on the Milan players this season, although many seem to believe Inter or Juventus will win the league. Based on recent interviews, though, the players don’t seem too bothered by the pressure.

Speaking to MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Kalulu admitted that tonight’s clash will be a difficult one as Udinese are a strong side. However, he also made it clear that Milan have done everything right in terms of preparation.

On the start of the new season and the relationship with the fans…

“It’s nice to feel these feelings for the start of the new season. There is a great relationship with the fans and when you win, it becomes even stronger.”

On today’s match…

“We have prepared well. They are a difficult opponent, they are very physical, but we have prepared ourselves to play our game.”

The young Frenchman will of course start alongside Fikayo Tomori in defence and it remains to be seen for how long he will be above Simon Kjaer in the pecking order. Perhaps for the entire season, but only time can tell.

He also spoke to DAZN, and added: “I want to do better and better. I am a player who works hard to be here. I have faith in my talent, but the road is still long and I have to be like this all year.”
