AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has decided to name Franck Kessie as the captain for tonight’s game against Fiorentina, it has been confirmed.
MilanNews report that with the number one captain Alessio Romagnoli on the bench and Davide Calabria not called up due to sustaining an injury on international duty, Franck Kessie will be the captain for Milan in tonight’s match against Fiorentina.
The vice-captain will be Simon Kjaer, and it is a bit of a surprise that he isn’t wearing the armband given he captain’s Denmark. Kessie though has collected 196 appearances for the Rossoneri, more than all the other players in the starting line-up.
There is a two-fold hysteria around Kessie currently, the first of which is related to his future as the Ivorian has just a few months left on his contract which expires in June 2022 and he appears to be far away from renewing.
The second issue is that Kessie’s performances as he gave away a penalty in the derby against Inter for example and was sent off against Atletico Madrid, but we can hope for a better performance tonight.

It irritates me a great deal. I’m not sure why that ungrateful jerk continues to play. Pioli must mature and quit behaving in a clownish manner.
The captain should be Kjaer or Ibra for they expirience or Tonali that loves the club not this trash that dont love Milan dont want to renew contract or leave in January so Milan could get some money!

The management should stop toying with the morale of other players by pussyfooting with traitors like Kessie. Kjaer should have been captain. Easy.

Kessie loses house first game as captain. I don’t understand why Kessie is given more time when we know he isn’t going to stay. If Tonali+Bennacer pair is not given more game time, it would be difficult for us next season.
