Kicker: Milan cancel the arrival of Ralf Rangnick – Pioli set to extend contract and stay

By Oliver Fisher -

In an astonishing turn of events, Kicker are reporting that Milan have decided not to go ahead with a change in management this summer.

The German outlet are claiming that after the streak of success in recent weeks, Stefano Pioli will continue as the head coach of the Rossoneri into next season and will in fact extent his contract.

As a result, Ralf Rangnick – currently employed as a football strategist in the Red Bull empire – will not move to the 18-time Italian champions.

Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis had been negotiating with the German for months with the idea of him becoming a both head coach and sporting director, but a signature was never put on paper and now the strategies have changed.

Milan have won six out of their last eight games in Serie A including wins over Roma, Lazio and Juventus, something which has almost guaranteed a place in next season’s Europa League.
