Kjaer describes recovery experience: “I isolated myself from everything and everyone”

By Isak Möller -

Simon Kjaer is back in business after spending eight months recovering from a serious knee injury. The Dane seems to be more motivated than ever and has made that clear in a recent interview.

The centre-back sustained a serious injury in the game between Milan and Genoa in December of last year, severely damaging his left knee. It took eight months but he finally made his comeback in the friendly against Wolfsberger last week.

Speaking to the weekly edition of SportWeek (via MilanNews), which will be published in full tomorrow, Kjaer revealed how he experienced the recovery process. He also shared his thoughts on the Scudetto race.

On the recovery…

“I was a hermit, I isolated myself from everything and everyone, but now I just want to play, starting from the next derby…”

On the Scudetto race…

“The predictions put us behind Juve and Inter. I understand people who think that way, given that our opponents have been very aggressive on the market. However, even last season, they didn’t put us as the favourites and we all know what happened then… In any case, I’m convinced that we still can grow.”

Kjaer is no longer a certain starter for Milan but there is no doubt that he will be a very important player for them this season. There are many games to be played and depth is absolutely crucial for the Rossoneri, and to that we can add his valuable experience.

  1. Me kjaer deserve to be Milan Captain he’s is calm in every situation very experienced much couraged defense position giving he’s defense team mates instructions.i really missed the service of him last season I wish him the best in the upcoming season

  2. I must admit that at first I thought he was just a mediocre player that Maldini bought to temporarily fill the gap in our defense. My respect grew and grew towards him during his time in Milan and I think he contributed a lot in our scudetto last season on and off the pitch. He is captain material for sure, and I’m glad he recover from that nasty injury. Welcome back Kjaer!
