MN: Kjaer in line for first Milan start since November

By Euan Burns -

Danish defender Simon Kjaer is in line to make his first start for AC Milan since November with Fikayo Tomori out injured, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, Kjaer is expected to partner Pierre Kalulu at the centre of the Milan defence when they host Sassuolo on Sunday lunchtime.

The game represents a chance for Milan to get back to winning ways as they take on a Sassuolo side that have been in a very poor run of form of their own.

The Neroverdi have lost four of their last five Serie A games, whilst Milan have not won in their last three, including a 4-0 defeat against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

Tomori picked up an injury in that game in Rome and had to be substituted. That has ruled him out of the match at San Siro and Kjaer could be the man to replace him, starting for the first time since November 8 against Cremonese.

  1. I would play Kjaer now, and then involve Thiaw/Gabbia in the next match along with Kjaer, as they would require his leadership and voice at the back. Kalulu is in a bit of a slump at the moment as well so it would be good to rest him as well.
