Kjaer admits squad ‘all have to step up’ but is convinced they are ‘at a good point’ – video

AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer admitted that the team made ‘too many mistakes’ during the friendly defeat against PSV last night, but believes that the break has done the team good.

Kjaer spoke during an interview with Milan TV to reflect on what was a disappointing night in the Netherlands, one where the performance was arguably even more worrying than the result, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“There are many things we need to improve, but today we made too many mistakes. We all have to step up, and the coach will take care of the rest,” he said.

How do you feel about the break?

“Strange period. I arrived in Dubai on the 15th and it’s strange, everything is new, but in my opinion we had good training and a good trip. It’s a shame about the results, but we can only improve. It will be very important to start well on the 4th, then we play every 3 days. The coach will need everyone, it will be a very intense period. I am convinced that we are at a good point.”

How is your condition?

“I’m fine, I’m improving, I’m trying to find my way; it’s been the most physically and mentally demanding year of my career, but I’m in a great team and in a great club that has always been close to me, so there’s just work to do.”
