Krunic the best-ranked Milan player in one key stat – fifth in the league

By Isak Möller -

Rade Krunic has started this season tremendously well, to the surprise of many, covering for the absences of Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie. And the stats only confirm that Stefano Pioli has a lot to think about.

The Bosnian has played in the midfield tandem, along with Sandro Tonali, and he has been very healthy for Milan thus far. He has done most of the ‘dirty work’ and hasn’t been as mistake-prone with the ball as we saw last season.

As revealed by the official Serie A website, Krunic is the Rossoneri player that has covered the most kilometres in the first two games of the season. And if you look at the entire league, he comes in at fifth place which is indeed impressive.

In two games, the former Empoli man has had an average of 11.6km covered per game, which is quite good. Of course, it’s only natural that he moves a lot given his position, but still.

1: Morten Thorsby – 12,216 km

2: Nicolò Rovella – 12.107 km

3: Samuele Ricci – 11,926 km

4: Remo Freuler – 11,607 km

5: Rade Krunic – 11,599 km

6: Gianluca Busio – 11,504 km

7: Walace – 11,463 km

8: Bryan Cristante – 11,416 km

9: Milan Badelj – 11,356 km

10: Pasquale Mazzocchi – 11.353 km

  1. No comments when there’s something positive to say about Krunic. Sad.
He will still return to be a substitute soon but he fights harder for the team than some of our supporters would ever do.

    1. I don’t understand the idiots calling him names. He literally plays at 4 positions, and wasn’t awful in any of them. He played on LW, AMC, MC and sort of a DM as well. He is the 3-4th choice in more than a few positions, you can’t find a lot of players like that. He isn’t the most technically gifted, but he is useful and gives his best. I would say the same for Castillejo if he could play more than 1 position, but for him I don’t see a point in staying.

  2. People like Krunic get my respect, we fans don’t like him so much because of his limitations as a footballer and we see him as a teacher’s pet because of the playing time he gets, mad he is always the first one to get the stick, maybe after Samu when Milan loses, or plays terribly, but this man has always shown up, been dutiful, played his part, and never complained in service, that is Milan, and you have my respect Rade!

  3. It’s just sad that player like Krunic didn’t get enough respect from Milan fans because he’s not a big name like Ibra and did a couple if mistake in the pitch.

But when Krunic played well like he did last season scoring a beautiful FK that gave Milan 3 points. Or like the first two matches this season, most fans just act like he did nothing :/
