Krunic remains a useful player for Milan and Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 formation

By Isak Möller -

Rade Krunic has been linked with a few clubs this summer but it has never been anything advanced. The reason for that is simple: Stefano Pioli wants to keep him and AC Milan also acknowledge his value.

The Bosnian, who arrived from Empoli for a mere €8m, might not be the most spectacular pölayer on the pitch, but he gets the job done. In addition to that, as highlighted by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, he’s very versatile.

This past season, he played as a right-back, a central midfielder, a left-winger, a No.10 and a striker for Milan. That says a lot about his versatility and how much Pioli trusts him, which is the most important thing.

The Rossoneri fans clearly have different opinions when it comes to Krunic, but the fact remains that he started the ‘Scudetto games’ against Verona, Atalanta and Sassuolo. He also came off the bench when Milan turned it around against Lazio and Fiorentina.

He remains a useful player for Milan, in other words, and his salary is hardly a burden on the club. The €8m paid four years ago, therefore, has proved to be a bargain.

  1. Rade Krunic’s best position is AMC, he is actually so smart, he understand how his team-mates move so fast but his technical aspects limited him to did brilliant passes. Krunic is like Kevin De Bruyne but with less technical-pack.

  2. We all appreciate Krunic professionalism, but the bar of our expectations for him has been lowered so much that he can’t disappoint us no matter what he does.
He has played in all those positions and hasn’t been good in any of them .
Zero goals, 2 assists last year. He doesn’t pass well, doesn’t create, doesn’t score, he isn’t that good in defending, what he is good is he puts an effort. And he gets praised left and right.
If Milan doesn’t bring another midfielder or 2 they’ll be in trouble. Kessie isn’t around anymore to cover for the others.
Currently our midfield is Tonali, Bennacer, Krunic, Pobega, Bakayoko . Outside of Tonali I am not very confident in the other 4.
Bennacer in 3 years at Milan has been very up and down, and missed a lot of games because of injuries

    1. Exactly, Krunic is nothing special but what I personally like about him is the effort he constantly makes. That’s what to me makes him valuable

  3. Ikr, rade used to be good in empoli with some goals and assists. And surprisingly he was put in CAM position, where this team lacks of.

  4. Should sell him now.
He plays well against mid-table club’s only.

I shudder at the thought of having to see him if we have to play Bayern, Real Madrid , Man City, Uefalona etc
Even smaller club’s like Monaco, Benfica and Galatasaray would chew up Krunic.
