Kvaratskhelia praises Milan star Leao for noble gesture: “I respect him so much”

The quarter-final between AC Milan and Napoli in the Champions League was also the battle of Rafael Leao and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The latter has now expressed his respect for the former, following a humble gesture.

Milan knocked Napoli out of the Champions League 2-1 on aggregate, winning the first game 1-0 and drawing the second game 1-1. Leao was one of the key players and showed this with an amazing solo run to assist Olivier Giroud.

Kvaratskhelia, on the other hand, struggled over the two legs and missed a penalty in the second leg (in the 82nd minute, when Milan led 1-0). After the final game, Leao published a photo of Kvara with the captain ‘crack’, which essentially means a brilliant player/champion.

In today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo below), Kvaratskhelia was asked about the gesture of Leao and praised the winger for his actions. He expressed his respect for the Milan star.

“I like his simplicity, his humility. He’s a champion on the pitch and no less off the field. I respect him so much, he made me happy with that kind gesture. We exchanged shirts and I wished him the best, because he really deserves it,” he stated.

  1. Shame that we can’t have Kvara and Leao in one team
The speed and skills of Leao + the godlike dribbling and ball control of Kvicha together would be a devastating attack
