Le10Sport: Milan joined by Roma and Valencia is pursuit of World Cup winning winger

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are part of a three-team race to land Marseille winger Florian Thauvin in the summer transfer window, reports in France claim.

Half of Europe were after Thauvin two summers ago he netted 22 times in Ligue 1 in the 2017-18 campaign – second only to Edinson Cavani – before winning the World Cup that summer with France.

However things have taken a sour turn. This season Thauvin has made just two league appearances after undergoing surgery on an ankle issue, and the fact his deal expires next summer means he could be sold in the upcoming window with no renewal imminent.

Le10Sport linked Milan with a swoop for the 27-year-old last month and this was then backed up by L’Equipe, and yet more confirmations of Milan’s interest have arrived.

According to the latest from Le10Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri are interested in trying their luck in snatching the former Newcastle man from Ligue 1 this summer, but they are not alone.

That is because Serie A rivals Roma are also in the hunt for Thauvin, while competition is also present from LaLiga side Valencia.
