Leao can equal Weah, Baggio, Bierhoff, Shevchenko and Inzaghi with goal against Venezia

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao has a chance to put himself alongside some of the club’s greats if he can score tonight against Venezia.

Leao scored in Milan’s first two home games in Serie A against Cagliari and Lazio in the respective 4-1 and 2-0 wins, and now he has the opportunity to equal some club legends.

That is because five players in the three point per win era have scored in each of the Rossoneri’s first three home games of the season in the competition. Those are George Weah and Roberto Baggio in 1996, Oliver Bierhoff in 1999, Andriy Shevchenko in 2000 and Pippo Inzaghi in 2002.

Milan faced Liverpool and Juventus with a depleted squad and not much has gotten better with the passing of a few days as there are at least six players unavailable for the game against Venezia, which means that Leao is virtually guaranteed a start at this stage.
