AC Milan’s hero of the day Rafael Leao has described his winning goal as a candidate for his ‘best moment’ as a player, curing the ‘anxiety’ of missing several chances.
Milan created a lot of chances in the early stages of both halves during the game at San Siro this afternoon but were quite wasteful, failing to hit the target at all on a lot of occasions and the restlessness was beginning to seep in.
However, in the 82nd minute there was a massive outpouring as Leao gave the hosts the lead. A poor pass from the goalkeeper was seized by the Portuguese winger and he surged into the box, firing a low shot that got past everybody and broke the deadlock.
Leao spoke to DAZN at the end of the game to reflect on what was far from an easy three points but was arguably the most important of the season, with MilanNews relaying his comments.
On the goal: “The best moment for a player, the important thing was the victory. We have created a lot, a little anxiety about wasted opportunities. It was a final, now we have to stay focused on our target.”
On the celebration: “A heart for my family, for my team and I am very happy.”
On how the team are at the moment: “We must all remain united, even the fans, to reach our goal.”
On managing pressure: “We try to do what the coach says with a great desire to run for our team-mates.”
On whether he will watch Udinese-Inter: “No, we only look at ourselves.”
Leao, you are great, not just for the goal but also for moving the team forward.
Leao za sada jedini koji može učiniti razliku pa i sa najboljima ! Milan ga ne smije igubiti bez obzira na ponude nego udružit sa vrhunskim igračima recimo Marezom na desno pa koliko košta da košta !!
Leak you should learn how to make an assist
