Leao shares suggestion on social media that Milan were denied blatant penalty – photo

Rafael Leao has shared a post on Twitter which suggested that AC Milan should have been awarded a second penalty during last night’s win over Hellas Verona.

Leao had a header blocked by Faraoni inside the box with 15 minutes left on the clock and there were huge appeals for a penalty. The ball definitely struck the wing-back’s arm, but after a VAR check nothing was given.

A Twitter user shared a photo of the incident claiming that Milan were ‘robbed’ by the officials, which Leao quote tweeted and said: “We continue.”

  1. Also. During following corner, ball fell on one of defenders arm and then bounced to goalkeepers gloves. So actually 2 big mistakes in space of minutes.

  2. Props to Valeri who didn’t even check on the monitor. Even the 1st penalty wouldnt be given if it’s not because of VAR intervention. While he was just 2 metres away from the incident and clearly saw it. All of those were quickly forgotten as his terrible calls weren’t affecting the result.

    1. LOL, so you’re saying that officials have the discretion to interpret the rules based upon the situation of the clubs? It’s either a penalty by the book or it isn’t, regardless of a club’s standing.
