Watch: Leao gets off the mark for the season with incredible goal vs. Roma

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao opened his account for the season in a quite fantastic way as he hooked in a volley to make it 2-0 against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

Olivier Giroud made it 1-0 with a coolly converted spot kick in the first half, and then it become two. A cross from Davide Calabria on the right drifted into a dangerous area at the back post, where Leao was on hand to somehow hook a shot in off the far post after beating Celik to the ball.

    1. Yup I had commented countless time on this forum.

Sell this guy. He is a time bomb

It’s earlier of the season to sort things out he should play as sub only

      1. Exactly! And people keep complaining about Krunic while he rarely messed up our team we have been dominating the game just to be defending half field like now. Tomori was only great on scudetto season. After that, awful. I never at ease if he is on pitch actually

    2. Tomori had a great game. Solid all around. Both yellows were harsh and undeserved (especially the first one). That’s on the ref and on Pioli who should have yanked him out at halftime. Tomori has been our best defender in the last two games. He seems to be recovering his form and becoming mistake-free again as I don’t consider these soft yellows as his fault. But obviously Pioli should have subbed him. Who didn’t see a red coming??? This was a time when we were in full control and closer to scoring a third. We had to lose Loftus-Cheek too because of Tomori’s red because he was booked too and we couldn’t afford two reds. L-C was the MOTM at that point (together with Rafa); we could have won this 3-0 and instead got 2-1 (lower goal differential) and on top of it we lose Tomori for the Derby. Pioli did sub well after the red and we did show how to play one man down but that was totally unnecessary and very tense at the end. Pioli always takes too long to sub, it’s one of his biggest shortcomings and it drives me crazy. From the first yellow I said to my son, we need to get Tomori out before he gets a red! Unbelievable, Pioli! And now people are faulting Tomori who was having a great game rather than the stupid decision by Pioli.

  1. There is a reason I never want tomori. Just headless chicken. This is not his first or second time causing this type of stupid red cards. He has anger issues as well

    1. Headless chicken? Tomori didn’t miss a single defensive action until his red. He was great all along and shouldn’t have been sent out especially after the really soft first yellow.

  2. Pobega on Girour wtf????
Pioli is inviting Roma to attack us… Just like last time lol this guy never learn from his mistakes.
I am afraid we won’t end up with 2:2

    1. Well when you already got a yellow card you need to estimate possible scenarios. It was a 50-50 card and he got what he asked for.

Look at his reaction after red card. He was harassing referee as well.

      1. True. But also Pioli took off the right sided more defensive player in RLC and replaced him with Chuk who was providing no cover. All the meaningful attacks came from that side after the card smh. Poor game management by Pioli

        1. RLC was co-MOTM but had to go because he was booked, we couldn’t afford losing two players to red cards. Chuk was asked to track back, and did. Nothing wrong with Chuk today. Okafor and Pobega were defensively instrumental. The poor management part I agree with due to Pioli not subbing out Tomori before the red, but that’s it; the other subs were good. It’s still a pretty big mistake by Pioli to allow this disaster of a red to happen, also impacting on our defense for the Derby.

  3. Pioli team management is poor, no way any other experienced coach would’ve let Tomori continue after the first half. Glad we got the win after a nervy closing minutes.

  4. Superb goal by Leao.
Very good game from lord Krunic.
    Tomori a bit unlucky.
Pioli should make obvious changes early enough.
    Forza Milan!!!

  5. So let me get this straight, every time a player receives a yellow he should be immediately subbed off before he gets a red? Otherwise, it’s the coach’s fault, not the moron who doesn’t know how to play with a yellow. Do I have that right?
God are you all a bunch of predictable fools, everything is always Pioli’s fault, and no win is good enough.
