Rafael Leao seems perplexed by the news that AC Milan are heading for a managerial shake-up based on his most recent social media post.
Yesterday evening the news broke that both Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are set to leave Milan having been sacked by Gerry Cardinale from their roles as the technical director and sporting director respectively.
Among the greatest unknowns deriving from the farewell of Maldini and Massara is certainly the reaction of the dressing room, and a tweet at around half past midnight by Leao – a simple puzzled emoji – speaks volumes.
Really, are we to believe that this was such a ‘out of the blue’s, my guess is that given the poor performance in the CL semi and the underwhelming league position that those within AC Milan knew about this possiblity weeks ago.
I do believe that Cardinale, do to his poor soccer experience waited to long to suck those two and the team has been damaged eventually more, Bakayoko, Origi and CDK have been a serious disaster.
Hopefully Boban will be rehired in order to have a competent person to handle the upcoming market!
It might not be comparable but it’s like when Leicester sacked Ranieri after he brought them their first title against huge odds. Sure he might not have been getting the results but the legend that he was after that sort of success it would have been best to not sack and give him a role within the club in a different capacity. It’s only “right”. I get the same feeling here, offer Maldini a different role at the club. If he doesn’t takes it, then it comes off better than a 2 minute conversation that says you’ve been sacked
I still can’t believe it I would not hate him and the likes of Theo, Tomori, Mike if they leave, those that made it open that they came because of Maldini and now you want them to play well, how and a very big legend at that, what an insult to football world and Milan
