An agreement was struck earlier this year that would have seen Rafael Leao pay a lower compensation amount to Sporting CP but the player rejected it, a report claims.
According to what was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) this morning, an agreement was reached back in April regarding the amount of compensation that Leao would have to pay to Sporting CP, before the court determined it over the summer.

Sporting CP were happy to settle on the basis of an immediate transaction of €14m, and the cost of that would have been paid half by Leao and half by his former club Lille, who signed the winger after he left the Portuguese club.
The solution, however, did not get the approval of Leao who refused to pay part of the amount. Now, the question of the compensation to Sporting CP represents the most complex obstacle for his renewal with Milan as Paolo Maldini does not intend to have Milan participate economically in the matter.

But but but, “I love Milan, I’m happy here…. Don’t reject it then, all that bullshit talk that he’s loves Milan, don’t reject it and don’t let Milan pay that bullshit sum which was YOUR own fault…
But but but, “I love Milan, I’m happy here…. Don’t reject it then, all that talk that he’s loves Milan, don’t reject it and don’t let Milan pay that s**t sum which was YOUR own fault
Maybe he does love Milan but it seems he loves money more. Actions speak more than words.
Why TF are we offering 6 mil? Just offer 7 and be done with it if we want to renew. If not, just get it over with and sell him. I really don’t get the haggling of Milan for 20cents. Leao deserves more than 7. If we cant afford that, let the guy leave and allow both the player and Milan earn some money in the process. Why TF do we need to waste time over 1mil? I love Maldini but this is bullSh*t.
Wow, I wish that I was as rich as you that millions don’t matter. That’s 1M per year, not just once, and that doesn’t even take into account that those are net, not gross numbers. In a five year contract that will be around 8M total more. You what is really BS, people who have no clue telling others what to do.
“Leao deserves more than 7”
Funny though that “deserve” means nothing in business – nor sports. Does C.Ronaldo deserve his salary? Messi? How about Kalulu? Or Max Allegri?
What count here is that Milan has a limited amount of money to spend. They still made a huge loss last season and need to turn the losses into profit. Giving 7,5M€ (inc.taxes) more to Leao makes it harder to reach the target in budget.
