Leao drops a strong hint over his future amid renewal talk: “I want to make history here”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao has insisted that he sees his long-term future with the Rossoneri, setting some lofty ambitions for himself in the process.

MilanNews are reporting that the extension of Leao’s contract with Milan does not seem to be in question, but we will have to wait a little longer than initially planned before there is pen on paper because of the ongoing legal battle involving the termination of his contract with Sporting CP.

As soon as everything is resolved, Leao will sign an extension with Milan until 2026, earning €4.5m net per season plus bonuses which is a big rise from the current €1.5m he earns and represents the same number as Theo Hernandez gets.

In an excerpt from the interview to be released on March 3 on DAZN, Leao spoke about his future with Milan and certainly seemed to strongly hint that he will be extending his stay.

“I want to make history here, I want my name to stay in the Milan museum one day,” he said (via MilanNews).

  1. Kessie dropped a few of those too. Turned out he didn’t want to stay at Milan forever, and he didn’t come back from the Olympics to make things right. So… let Leao sign a contract first, then we can acknowledge his dedication to the club.
