This summer, AC Milan will make an attempt to sign Robert Lewandowski from Barcelona. However, it will not be an easy feat.
In recent weeks, it has been suggested that Lewandowski is the dream striker for Milan to add to this team. Very much a signing of the Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic ilk, he would join as a reference point who would still be capable of scoring goals at the top level.
However, the Polish striker would not be a cheap signing. Indeed, his contract situation with Barcelona makes it difficult to guarantee that he would come to Italy. Fabrizio Romano reported that the only way to see him in Serie A would be a serious wage cut, but there may not be chance of that.
Lewandowski to Milan?
As Calciomercato.com reports this afternoon, the striker’s future is ‘more open than ever’, with all three teams in the running having a decent chance. However, it cannot be denied that his agent is hoping for the field to become broader.
It is also worth noting that Pini Zihavi was in Milano to have dinner with Igli Tare a few nights ago, during which the Albanian attempted to persuade the super agent to listen to his proposal on behalf of the Rossoneri.
There are doubts within the management. However, they would surely be outweighed, with Lewandowski seen as a ‘five-star profile’.
