Loftus-Cheek, Tomori, Calabria and Florenzi speak at BMW event: “We are excited”

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has admitted that he didn’t think he would end up reuniting with Fikayo Tomori in Italy, while the defender is looking forward to the new season.

After a few weeks off, the Milan squad reconvened at Milanello on Monday to begin preparing for the 2023-24 season to come, or at least those players who have not been on international duty were present with the rest to follow on July 19.

A trip to the USA is on the agenda later this month as the Rossoneri will fly out to the west of the country to take on Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona in California and Nevada, ramping up preparations for the new season.

A number of Milan players were present at a BMW Italia event tonight to celebrate the renewal of their partnership with the club. Loftus-Cheek, Tomori, Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi all spoke to the media, with their comments relayed by MilanNews.

Loftus-Cheek: “I didn’t think I would cross paths with Fik in Italy. When we were little we arrived at Chelsea together at 9-10 years old, then went through the academy together.

“I’m happy to be able to meet again here at a big club like Milan. I already feel at ease in Milan, I like the style and culture of the city. Then the training center is fantastic, I’m really happy to be here.”

Tomori: “I’m happy too, I know what qualities he has and I’m very happy he’s with us. I hope we will have a very good season. Every year it gets more difficult than the previous year, but we have a good team and we are excited.”

Florenzi: “We have to put some gas in (laughs). We are working”.

Calabria: “We have just started, there are still players missing. We’re trying to resume, it’s been a fairly busy three days but that’s normal.”
