Longo: Loftus-Cheek and Thiaw recovering from illness – latest from Milanello

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan had a training session at Milanello this afternoon and a few injury updates have now arrived. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Malick Thiaw are both recovering from illness, hoping to be available against Fiorentina.

Stefano Pioli is already dealing with a couple of key absences and his goal is thus to recover as many players as possible. According to Daniele Longo, Davide Calabria and Christian Pulisic worked on the pitch today and are both set to start on Saturday.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, meanwhile, worked in the gym during the entire session. The Englishman has been struggling with stomach flu in the last few days, but the goal is to have him back for the Fiorentina clash. If not in the starting XI, at least on the bench.

As added by the journalist, Thiaw only participated in half of the training session because he’s recovering from the flu. Considering that Milan have no other options at centre-back currently, bar Primavera star Jan-Carlo Simic, Pioli will be hoping for the German to make a swift recovery.

  1. We could have gotten 15 but oh well. Take an espresso and get rid of this bum Spider Rico! He can pass backwards at him and Pioli’s wedding
