Longo: Management’s future uncertain under new owners but Milan will complete two deals

By Isak Möller -

Investcorp are in advanced talks with Elliott Management over the purchase of AC Milan, with the finish line in sight. While the Arab fund wants to build on the current project, the future of the management cannot be guaranteed.

Various reports from this morning (read one here) suggest that Ivan Gazidis, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara most likely will stay at the club even in the event of a sale. Of course, it’s because they have done such a good job with the club.

However, as stated by Daniele Longo, while it would make sense for Investcorp to keep the current management, there are no guarantees that this will be the case. And as for the mercato, everything will have to be evaluated.

There are two operations, though, that the current management has more or less completed: Sven Botman and Divock Origi. These are thus expected to be completed regardless of the potential sale.

  1. Any owner who has even one braincell left in their head would know letting either Maldini, Messara or Moncada go specially after what they have done for Milan means the whole investment will definitely to waste as it will anger every football fan, and not just Milan fans.

  2. Gazidis, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara everyone must stay otherwise we will screw up just like we did when we went under Chinese ownership
