Longo: Milan make decision on duo as Buongiorno remains the key target

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are expected to reinforce the defensive department in the summer, given the struggles this season, and Geoffrey Moncada is already working on the matter. As per a report, the primary target remains Alessandro Buongiorno.

The Torino star was heavily linked with the Rossoneri in January and a new attempt is expected in the summer, as per Calciomercato.com. Tosin Adarabioyo (Fulham) and Lloyd Kelly (Bournemouth) have also been mentioned, on expiring contracts, but contacts have not deepened lately.

Kelly has struggled with too many injuries, with Milan abandoning their initially concrete pursuit, and Buongiorno remains the key target for the summer. The 24-year-old recently returned from injury and Moncada is keeping a close eye on his progress.

Knowing Torino’s president Urbano Cairo, though, the price tag will not be low (around €30m). Therefore, Milan could try to include both Jan-Carlo Simic and Lorenzo Colombo as counterparts in a potential deal. That could get the price tag significantly, given the potential of these two players.

The alternatives are Lilian Brassier and Maxence Lacroix, as also reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning. It remains to be seen what will happen, but Milan are clearly keen on reinforcing the defence ahead of next season.
