Ruben Amorim is at the centre of AC Milan’s new project, as stated by a report, with the full backing of the new management on all fronts.
When Amorim was appointed as the new head coach of Milan, it was almost immediately suggested that he could have a coach-manager role. Matteo Moretto said that he would have ‘significant influence’ on the decisions made, especially the transfers.

It seems that is indeed the case, as Amorim not only played a huge part in the signing of Goncalo Ramos, but also in getting the green light from Mario Gila. The economic offer made a difference too, but as Fabrizio Romano said, the coach is heavily involved.
Amorim’s era
On his X account, Daniele Longo added to the above by stating that Milan have embraced the ideas of Amorim. That’s a breath of fresh air, considering that the old management and Max Allegri didn’t exactly see eye to eye all the time last season.
“Milan are moving forward by fully embracing Amorim’s ideas, and this is objectively a good thing. The Portuguese coach has already spoken with Gila, presenting his vision of football and the ambitious Rossoneri project. Gila wants to wear the Milan jersey,” he wrote.
It remains to be seen when the deal will get over the line, the one for Gila that is, but it’s nice to know that Amorim is very influential when it comes to picking the target.
That’s OK, good for them but why hasn’t that been done with Allegri? Why has Conte been rejected? He wanted to have a say in transfer (making) decisions just like Amorim which is totally fine because all good coaches should
be allowed to be involved but why was that (request) such a problem back then for this incompetent bunch and now it is not at all?!
This lovely club has lost 2 more years since

Because new management , giorgio furlani was there doing his own thing and ignoring the manager’s request.

Tbh, it was also about the managers. Conte and Allegri(in the end of his juve era) are mostly one season managers, that help you build up from the ground. After that, you search for a long term project, a young exciting coach. Their plan is to also sell this still of football cuz tbh Allegri ball is torture. So that could be one of the reasons
So why not go for De Zerbi instead of Fonseca (not even a first option, the fans overturned Lopetegui’s appointment)? RDZ is/was just an example but you get the point.
I get that but it seems that Ruben is the RDZ they want. Atp we kinda have to wait cuz the signings seem to be what Amorim wants, and if it something that is well in his system then it is a good thing. Idk why Amorim was the one they wanted, but maybe he might be a surprise later on(Accent on MAYBE)
Let them prove me wrong (nothing would make me happier really) but the Amorim-Mendes axis could be one of the reasons if not the strongest (biggest) and by far the most important reason of them all.
My opinion, but giving Allegri what he wants wouldn’t help the club long term.

Because Furlani was an arogant jerk who had no idea about leading a club or football in general, the new CEO Calvelli is different, he is the one who wanted Ragnick as director, he said during a interview he isn’t a football specialist so he wanted someone who knows and have experience and give that person full powers… considering Rag and director from Frankfurt didn’t come I think he just trust Amorim with the players recruitment.
That is true but the owner shouldn’t have allowed that kind of behaviour and operation at all and he should have put an end to that immediately, he is undoubtedly the MOST! responsible for the whole mess.
What owner? Gerry is never present in Milan, Furlani and Zlatan pulled all the shots. This new guy Calvelli looks like a decent CEO, he wants to hire people and give them the freedom to work not like the ex CEO who wanted to do everything by himself but the problem is still Zlatan being part of redbird and Gerry who is always gone, lets see this season if he stays around. My only question is how good is the sporting director, we have tons of players that needs to be sold this summer

Truth is it’s been years since Milan have embraced and backed their coach, even since before Pioli. The mercato had always been based on player trading and potential resale values as opposed to what the coach actually needed.
So it is definitely uplifting to see that Milan are (at least) attempting to properly back their coach for a change.
