Longo: Milan have not enquired about Bayer Leverkusen defender – the latest

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have several centre-backs on their wish list for the January transfer window but Piero Hincapié is not one of them. Contrary to previous reports, the Rossoneri have not enquired about the Ecuadorian international.

The likes of Pierre Kalulu, Marco Pellegrino and Malick Thiaw are currently on the sidelines and Milan are thus expected to sign a centre-back in January. In addition to recalling Matteo Gabbia, the Rossoneri have also been linked with Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior.

The German outlet Bild reported yesterday that Milan have enquired about the situation of Piero Hincapié. The 21-year-old currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen and is believed to have a very high price tag, with many top clubs interested as well.

According to Daniele Longo, however, Milan are not interested in the Ecuadorian and have not probed the ground with Bayer Leverkusen. Furthermore, the latter consider him unsellable – especially in January – and will only part ways with the player in the event of a high offer.

Milan will make an attempt for Kiwior in January, by the looks of it, as the Polish international has struggled to get consistent playing time. A loan could perhaps be possible, therefore, but everything will depend on the Gunners.
