Despite the negotiations between AC Milan and Chelsea over a transfer for Mike Maignan, the goalkeeper could end up renewing his contract with the Rossoneri.
The last few weeks have been quite intense for Milan, with many negotiations being carried out at the same time. One of them was with Chelsea over Maignan, whose contract renewal never materialised in the spring, leaving an opening for the English side.

However, the clubs failed to reach an agreement on the transfer fee, and then the deadline for the pre-Club World Cup transfer window arrived. Now, Milan have made it a priority to revitalise the renewal talks with their star goalkeeper.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Max Allegri has scheduled a meeting with Maignan. The Rossoneri’s new head coach has always said that he wants to keep the No.16 and he will make that extra clear in the meeting, outlining the important role he has in mind.

From there, if the two find themselves on good terms, Igli Tare will also revive the renewal talks in an attempt to keep him beyond 2026. As said, there was an agreement in place during the spring but the ‘old management’ didn’t hold up their end of the bargain.
With Allegri and Tare, perhaps the negotiations can have a very different outcome, possibly with a slightly higher renewal offer involved. What’s clear is that the duo are very keen on keeping Maignan in the team as one of the leaders.

He AGREED to a proposal then Furlani said “nope nevermind” I don’t think he’ll agree to a lower offer than that.
And considering the current atmosphere surrounding the club (which he partially contributed to honestly) I doubt he is eager to stay in the club and work with this management.
Lets hope Tare and Allegri can assure him that they run the show now and not the other fools
So they hope to renew him where his friend and national teammate is being forced out of the club, after he saw two of our best players shipped out in 2 seasons? The first was poorly replaced. Management since have said they don’t wish to win at all costs publicly. They saw teammates leave for nothing over 1 miillion to 150 k difference is offered and requested wages. These things accumulate and culminate into a lack of trust with the top brass.
They have their work cut out in convincing him. I hope it works though.

Forced out? Shipped out? LOL!
Reijnders wanted to join City and his dad initiated the whole thing. Theo’s entourage has informed Milan they’re leaving. Not giving the KID 8M€ isn’t “forcing him out”.
Sorry, not “kid” but “manchild”.
Allegri’s position at the club is not that strong.
Coward Furlani blow up Mike’s contract negotiations ffs
Hope it goes through. Mike, Xhaka, Modric they all have character we chronically lack. But please mix them with young talent like Leoni, Zanotti, Bernabe, Fazzini, Jashari, Guerra, Ricci.
Mike has character? He’s looking to abandon a ship he helped sink. He can bounce.
How exactly did he helped sink the ship? Because of a period of poor form?
It sure wasn’t the management who contributed to his poor form after withdrawing the offer he was about to accept in January and ghost him, right?
They withdrew the offer BECAUSE of his poor form, not BEFORE his poor form.
Get it right.
