Malick Thiaw isn’t convinced by the idea of joining Como, according to a report, but the Italian side are convinced of getting him onboard with a hefty contract offer.
As was first reported on Thursday evening, AC Milan have reached an agreement with Como for the transfer of Thiaw. The transfer fee is set at €25m (most likely plus bonuses) and now, work is underway to convince the player.

According to the latest reports from Daniele Longo, Thiaw isn’t convinced about joining Como this summer. However, the Cesc Fabregas-led side will make a proper attempt to convince the German, putting a contract worth €4m per year on the table.
It would be a sizeable pay rise for the German, considering he only earns €800k per year at Milan. In addition to the salary, Como will also explain their project in detail and the key role that the player will play in it. As a result of this, there is confidence that the green light could arrive in the end.
The new contacts will take place today, per the report, and the outcome should be made known fairly soon. Milan are watching on closely as the capital gain from Thiaw’s sale would help them a lot on the mercato.

Thiaw wants to be in Germany’s national team and going to Como is a huge risk. He probably prefer the likes of Leverkusen, Stuttgart, and Dortmund.
Of all the defenders we have, Thiaw is a perfect CB for Allegri’s system. He is not a leader of course, and if we were to sell him to bring a CB with gravity and leadership, I am all for it. But if you’re selling him to bring in, say, Leoni (who is a great prospect), then you still have a leadership void in that back line.
I would rather sell one of Gabbia/Pavlo/Tomori to bring Leoni in and play him next to Thiaw.
I wouldn’t like to see gabbia go. Hes 25(which is young for a cb) he makes his defensive partner play better, pretty good in the air, reads the game well, and does have some long range passing. He might not be the fastest, but you don’t have to be if you read the game correctly.
Gabbia wont go anywhere, Pavlo is liked by Allegri, only Tomori and Thiaw will go, and both can go this window
