AC Milan started the season with a win, beating Udinese 4-2 yesterday, and there is optimism for what’s to come. The transfer market is still open, though, and the Rossoneri could do with a few signings.
Stefano Pioli has already made it clear that a centre-back and a midfielder could help him a lot. Franck Kessie hasn’t really been replaced and the same goes for Alessio Romagnoli, which is why questions remain with regard to the market.
According to Andrea Longoni in his latest piece for MilanNews, a backup is needed for the defence as Milan already have Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjaer. For the midfield, however, a ‘bigger name’ could be needed depending on how Pioli views the role of Tommaso Pobega.
Amidst many rumours and links, however, there is also the hypothesis that Milan could rely on the squad they currently have. It’s perhaps not that likely, but it’s something the Rossoneri fans must keep in mind in these last few weeks of the mercato.
Definitely need another LCB – one injury to Kalulu or Tomori and we are in trouble. Gabbia not ready. Kajer coming off major knee surgery at 34 and we play every 3 days. We will have no decent backup to Theo….Another mid DM is needed as well. Same reason as above, one injury to Tonali or Bennacer and we are in trouble. Poegba is still young and needs time and Krunic is better as an offensive mid and utility player (not everyday starter). I love Adli and think he will be a star but not sure his best position is DM. Baka well is Baka. Probably a better CB than a DM lol. A RW would be nice as well as Messias is average and Sales is a backup at best. Same problem as last season. Some say to play CDK there but that is not his natural position. I agree with some to try Rebic there or perhaps Origi. Would be nice to pick up Ziyech on loan but we will see.
If you see heat map CDK on brugge play ,mostly on right flank not center,basically he have potential for RW or pioli can use brahim on RW too. Using rebic on RW too risky and make us dont have back up on LW. But i agree we need taller CB ,more better if can play LB too like ndicka or diallo, we are game over if both tomori-kalulu absence in same time forced us to using gabbia-kjaer pair. It is same case with double pivot if benna-tonali absence in same time forced us to use krunic-pobega , we need starter quality DMF. For RW or striker can wait next season budget
I agree – unless we get Ziyech on loan (option – not obligation) then we won’t do anything at RW. Hope we can get quality CB and DM in these last weeks. I’d prefer N’Dicka over Diallo – but it seems unlikely and N’Dicka will test free agency. For DM seems whoever we may get won’t be of starting quality unless M&M make magic happen. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
