Sandro Tonali has been sold to Newcastle and the deal will be made official soon. It’s an exit that didn’t go down well with the AC Milan fans, but at least the Rossoneri won’t sell another star this summer.
The talks between Milan and Newcastle proceeded quickly and an agreement was struck at around €70m, with the player signing a deal worth around €8m per year. A lot of money, but the Rossoneri have lost one of their stars.
According to Andrea Longoni in his latest editorial for MilanNews, there is at least one piece of good news amidst all of the negativity: Milan will not sell anyone of their remaining stars this summer. In short, the team will not be stripped.
There’s still a lot of work to be done on the mercato, though, and it remains to be seen if Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada can reinvest the money in the best way possible. It won’t be easy, but it’s not impossible either.
The damage is already done, they have sold the heart of Milan, they not only sold a good player but a future captain a milanisti, you cannot come back from that, it is unforgiveable, sell Theo, sell mike, don’t care, the one player they shouldn’t have sold, they have
Forza Milan
Selling Tonali was plan, never mentioned in media.
Same will apply for arrival transfers:
We will not know 1 player before he arrives.
All rumours will stay that way.
Should I have my eyes closed when I read this?
Do it if you can… 😁😁😁😁😁
You should close eyes on each media post about Milan transfer singing.
In short, the team will not be “stripped.” Looks like they’re not gonna make onlymilanfans by selling another key players. Now they need to hurry signing fratessi bc rival already sold their player thus they will complete the signing
I’ll believe it when i see it but i’m pretty sure they would sell some if they deem the offers acceptable.
Before we could buy but not sell. Now apparently we have no issues selling but can’t buy.
we’ll see if we actually manage to sell origi and rebic or for that matter toure because its not impressive that they managed to sell tonali as he always has had lots of suitors and its not like the fee we get out of that deal is nothing special to begin with,
Dont forget junior messias & devis vasquez too for free non EU slot . Rebic & origi would be hard to sell due to high salary . We are lucky if both want to lower their salary to join fenerbahce . For tonali that will be huge lost , i prefer they sell benna or tomori but benna injured , pairing benna & tonali are bad for double pivot , tonali – krunic or benna – krunic are much better.
i actually doesnt think that either vasquez or messias will be difficult to offload as they exactly doesnt have high salaries, If i remember correctly vasquez has a salary of 4-500k euroes and messias in the vicinity of 1 mil after taxes so they should be fairly easily sold.
I might be wrong but didnt bother to look it up but its not much more.
Even rebic and origi should be able to gain some sales because origi could have suitors from england if turkey doesnt pan out, rebic shold have suitors as well besides of turkey but his less than impressive last two season might come as a stumbling block and his recent apparent fallout
with pioli propably makes it even more difficult.
Personally i always liked rebic but the last 2 seasons has been underwhelming, I think he is a far more fragile player than people reckons as i do think he is still a good player but needs to be a starter where he plays and and then he will be a good player but that is not gonna happen in ac milan anylonger with leao in the club,
i agree i would rather have sold bennacer or tomori but yeah bennacer was not an opton but for me neither was tonali. I like krunic and always did but you cant seriousy say he is better than tonali or for that bennacer but still krunic is an important player in the greater scheme.
I never said krunic was better player than tonali. But pairing tonali – bennacer are bad on result and better result coming from pairing tonali – krunic or bennacer – krunic. Krunic are the one here that called balance maker , doing dirty job like tackling, ball recovery, help defense . For Rebic i agree with you , his relationship already broken with coach due to his indiscipline, worst case we will loan him until his contract expire like we did to castilejo . I would like to see chaka traore step up and take rebic place as leao deputy
my bad then and i must have misread it as it was getting a bit late when i replied. Then i actually agree he has been very important in balancing the midfield. Rebic also had a fallout with the croatian national team and as long as the coach is the same he will never get a call up there as well. I agree if we cant sell him then he most likely will get loaned out as it would be a disturbance to keep him at this point.
Im intrigued to see chaka traore at the first team as well but if he is to be promoted then he should renew his contract first as it expires in 2024 and no reason to promote him if he is refusing a new deal but the talent is there and i have no idea what traores stance is in regard of renewing it.
This summer
Correct this summer…just have to wait for next summer window. They will strip this team make no mistake about it
Diaz was a starter and very important player in this squad. Real decided to take him back but Milan leadership should not forget that they have lost 2 important players not only Tonali.
True. Something that had been prepared by the previous management in the form of Kamada. Haven’t heard a certainty ever since. They also had prepared Cheek for Isma replacement. But now, not only we still haven’t found any real target, we lost another key player.
But both are 100% replaceable. The only thing that stings with Tonali is that he was supposed to be a future legend but that’s modern football for you – one big game of musical chairs.
Dont get mad AC Milan fans next winter we are gonna sell one of this 3 Theo,Magic Mike or Leao and next summer we sell the remainig 2 of the 3.
Really dont want this to happen but after the talks about Tonali,Theo,Magic Mike and Leao being center pieces of the project and not for sell they go ahead and sell Tonali!
You just said it all. If you notice no player want to come to Milan anymore… They all see Milan management as an unserious department, firstly sacking Maldini, 2ndly for selling a die hard fan and a prolific player in the team. Meaning they don’t care about your impact in the team just for you to grown and catch on you.. They never thought of winning 🏆, but in for business. I will blame The people of Italians/seria a. Management for giving outsider toy on there league…what they have been building for many millennium ago. To every Milan fan… We all need to vote /protest against the new management/ owner out starting from Let’s unfollow all the verified pages of Milan, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok for now until everything is settled. Nobody should buy tickets 🎫 any of Milan’s matches with constant protests at the stadium. #cardinaleout
#out Jerry Clowndinale & co
#boycott tickets for the next season
#yankees go home
This is literally the one player that should have been untouchable and he’s the 1st sold of RedTurds reign… this is 100% intentional and to show all of us little peons who’s the boss. He wants us to stay loyal to him even after 2 massive offenses to see just how much he can get away with, sociopath. #cardinaleout and asap.
indeed … #cardinaleout
I don’t think you’ve figured out how hashtags work yet.

Trojan. Like Interista in a disguise, right? 😀
“Not selling any more stars” is not an acceptable mercato. There have to be new faces, lots of them – convincing players who will make an impact in Serie A and the CL IMMEDIATELY. Of course, that’s not going to happen…. frankly, I think the owners should accept their failure and sell up asap.
@MC Miker G
You’re right, except sadly that’s the one thing not gonna happen. Gerry The Clown ain’t going anywhere. He’ll milk the club for €€€ aiming for 4th-6th every year. Will model ourselves on Spurs and try to be a team that is profitable but never wins anything, but eventually builds a stadium that can host NFL games.
And then Clowndinale will be pleased with his work, as he sells AC Spurs in a decade to a new owner for a profit. He wins, every Milanista loses.
No one is going to sign players from a team finishing outside the top 4. Milan have to be successful for Redbird to make a profit. If a stadium is built, it doesn’t matter who is sold. A stadium guarantees our long-term future and I’d expect another take over once it’s ready.
So Milan fans are to be excited by not selling star players….not signing good ones and winning trophies…
Never trust to American guy….
BULL$HIT at it’s finest.
All it will take is for another Newcastle to get our tapeworm sniff a bundle of cash for it all to change.
In case people forgot.. we had the good news before tonali’s sale such as Tonali, Leao, Mike and Theo were unsellable. Lol
Milannews will write whatever management wants the fans to believe, we already know how much tapeworm cares for Milan fans.
Lol no one should trust any words that came out from cardinale and his ball lickers cronies.
Which players of any substance would ever come and play for this new organization Cardinale Furlani Moncada who are these guys…
I hope AC Milan is the reason Newcastle United exit the UCL next season. Jerks. How dare they even consider Tonali in the first place. They knew what he meant to the AC Milan fans.
You will sell more, trust me.
Why redbird do moneyball only when buying? Used moneyball for selling too..
