Longoni: Champions League revenue ‘a great assist’ for Milan in Leao talks

By Isak Möller -

Rafael Leao is getting closer to renewing his contract with AC Milan after many months of intense negotiating. Indeed, the winger’s new-found form on the pitch is a sign that an agreement is on the cards.

After a post-World Cup slump, Leao has found his form yet again and he was crucial for Milan in the two games against Napoli. Hopefully, he can continue this good run of form in the league as the Rossoneri need all the wins they can get.

As highlighted by Andrea Longoni for MilanNews, though, it’s obvious that he revenue from the Champions League is ‘a great assist’ for Milan in the Leao talks. €125m has been secured and that figure could still increase, which is amazing.

TMW reported earlier this morning (read here) that Milan more or less have an agreement with Leao at €7m plus bonuses per year. The final details with the Sporting fine just need to be ironed out, even f the Rossoneri aren’t involved in that.
