Lazio midfielder Lucas Leiva has denied making distasteful comments to a disabled AC Milan press officer after Saturday’s game.
Reports earlier on Tuesday from Il Messaggero claimed that the former Liverpool man was involved in a verbal confrontation with Ugo Allevi – the Rossoneri’s press officer.
Leiva reportedly told Allevi to “just sit there and shut up”, which understandably was met with an expletive response.
The Brazilian however has released a statement through Instagram, denying that the incident took place.
“I would like to make it clear that the accusations made recently about me and the post-match in Milan are totally false and unfounded.
“It is my concern to highlight in a way peremptory this regrettable and totally false fact towards me, since in ten years of career I have never allowed myself to lack respect for anyone.
“This is absolutely not part of my professional behavior and also offends not only third parties but also me on a level human.”
