Di Marzio: Maignan at home, Gimenez plan outlined – the latest from Milanello

AC Milan are continuing their preparations ahead of the match against Atalanta at San Siro on Sunday night, and news has arrived from Milanello.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio on his site Pazza Di Fanta, Mike Maignan stayed home today for another day of rest, as per the program drawn up by the medical staff. There is cause for alarm for the French goalkeeper, especially given the CT scan yesterday came back all clear.

The other news instead comes regarding Santiago Gimenez, who missed the Udinese win with a sore side. The striker trained alone again and his return to the group is expected either tomorrow or on Friday. The signs are encouraging, and the coach could have him available against La Dea.

The match against Atalanta is scheduled for Sunday 20 April at San Siro, where the Rossoneri will try to exploit home advantage and start a winning run, which began with the 4-0 victory over Udinese in the last round.

Milan are currently ninth in Serie A, with 51 points, and are chasing the top seven positions to gain access to European competitions. Fourth place – which is qualification for the next Champions League – is eight points away and is now a very difficult objective to achieve.

  1. As per protocols with head injuries Miagnan isnt allowed to even train for a week, so there should be no alarm or surprise he is at home/not training.

  2. “There is cause for alarm for the French goalkeeper, especially given the CT scan yesterday came back all clear.”
That sentence does not make sense. “….no cause?”
