Uncertainty seems to be the buzzword at AC Milan at present, and that also applies to the future of goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
Reports from a number of different sources over the past few months have suggested that Milan have been negotiating a renewal with Maignan. A deal seemed close a while back with a verbal agreement found, yet everything then went quiet as the management began to reflect.

His fate remains in doubt as a result, especially given that his contract expires in just over 12 months. The Rossoneri have been linked with potential replacements as a result: Mile Svilar has been mentioned in recent days, to give one example.
Moretto’s Maignan update
Now, Matteo Moretto of Relevo has given an update on the future of Maignan during a video on his YouTube channel, and he revealed that the former Lille man expected some news by now.
“In mid-February Milan reached a verbal agreement for the renewal of Maignan, contracts ready for signing but there was never an appointment for the signatures. Maignan expected to renew and also got a little impatient. As of today, the renewal is on hold,” he said (via X).
As the captain of Milan and with some improved performances in recent week, it is perfectly logical for the 29-year-old to seek some clarity regarding the plans for the future.
