GdS: Light at the end of the tunnel finally emerges for Maignan – the game he is targeting

By Oliver Fisher -

Yesterday marked four months since AC Milan last lined up with Mike Maignan in goal, and his return may finally have a target date.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that after ten hellish days culminating in losing the Supercoppa 3-0 against Inter and thus missing out on the first available trophy, the Rossoneri need some positive news.

The latest update that arrived yesterday was a positive one regarding the condition of Maignan, as the most recent checks on the French goalkeeper’s calf showed improvements. The former Lille man has been out for four months, and it can be argued that the Rossoneri’s defence has suffered a lot as a result.

There is still a long way to go, but Maignan has the dream of being able to return to the field for the Champions League last 16 first leg against Tottenham which will be played at the San Siro on February 14th.
