CorSport: Maignan may not be the only returnee as Ibrahimovic warms his engine

Mike Maignan may not be the only AC Milan player to make a long-awaited return today as Zlatan Ibrahimovic could also get some game time.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports that Maignan is ready to make his return to action 162 days after his last appearances in the 2-1 defeat to Napoli at San Siro, hoping to help continue a streak of three games without conceding.

Last season Milan had an impressive feat as they went 658 minutes without conceding en-route to the Scudetto win but Maignan will resume his place with the team currently on a run of around half that thanks to the new three-man defence and Ciprian Tatarusanu’s work.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could also be back on the field for the first time this season. He has been available to Stefano Pioli on the bench for the last couple of league games but was not at 100% condition, so this evening he could have the chance to get back out there, knowing a goal would make him the oldest ever Serie A scorer.
