Mike Maignan christened his official status as the new number one goalkeeper of France by saving a penalty last night in their win over the Netherlands.
France head coach Didier Deschamps confirmed earlier in the week that Maignan will take Hugo Lloris’ place as the new number one, after the latter retired from international football. He started in the 4-0 win over the Dutch last night and kept his clean sheet intact by saving a penalty from Memphis Depay.
