CorSport: Maignan unbeaten in nearly 300 minutes as Milan get their leader back

By Oliver Fisher -

When factoring in his games for club and country, Mike Maignan has gone nearly 300 minutes without conceding a goal and AC Milan have one of their leaders back.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) talks about Maignan, who was out for a long time due to a calf problem and only became available again in February 2023 after months of absence.

His return, however, was in grand style as as usual. He kept a clean sheet in important matches such as against Atalanta, Spurs (making an amazing save in the second leg to deny Harry Kane) and Napoli.

He has also been in top form for France too, as ‘Magic Mike’ saved a penalty kick from Memphis Depay in a 4-0 win over the Netherlands and made an amazing stop from a header by Collins in the match against Ireland to get another clean sheet.

Thanks to these saves, the Milan goalkeeper hasn’t conceded a goal in 290 minutes, keeping clean sheets in six of his last nine games. The last goal conceded dates back to the match against Udinese by Ehizibue.
