Repubblica: Maldini and Scheiner to have vital roles at Milan under RedBird – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

There are two figures who will play a key role in leading AC Milan into a new era under RedBird Capital Partners, a report has revealed.

La Repubblica (via MilanNews) reports this morning that with the arrival of Gerry Cardinale at the helm of the Rossoneri, two men in particular will acquire a central role. The first is the current technical director Paolo Maldini, and the other is Alec Scheiner.

Maldini should have the same powers as he has at the moment, but more strength when it comes to decision making. He has already had a meeting with Cardinale during which he illustrated to the new owner of Milan his idea of a team to improve every year with a key signing, like the Charles De Ketelaere coup this summer.

Scheiner meanwhile is a lawyer and the right-hand man of Cardinale. He will in all likelihood have the delegation of strategies for increasing stadium revenues, a theme that will be central to RedBird’s plans.

The project development of the new stadium should remain with the current president Paolo Scaroni, but it must be noted that Scheiner played a fundamental role in the construction of the AT&T Stadium, the $1.3bn home of the Dallas Cowboys which opened in 2009.
