Maldini: “Bakayoko and Florentino? Honestly, you’re a little off the mark”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has suggested that rumours linking the club with Tiemoue Bakayoko and Florentino Luis are wide of the mark.

Reports earlier on Friday suggested that Milan have turned their attentions back to Florentino Luis of Benfica as they are struggling to close a deal for Bakayoko.

Contacts between the clubs and the player will continue over the next few days, with the player pushing to return to the Rossoneri, but it appears Chelsea are not backing down on their demands which means things have not gone as quick as Milan wanted.

Calciomercato.com then stated that Milan are struggling to close the deal for Bakayoko with Chelsea, and as such they have met with the entourage of Florentino. Maldini and the player’s agent apparently held a meeting at a well-known hotel in the centre of Milan.

Maldini spoke to Sportitalia on Friday night and his comments were transcribed by Luca Cilli on Twitter.

“Bakayoko and Florentino? Honestly, you’re a little off the mark, but let’s see. Do we need a midfielder? For the moment we are so happy. Bakayoko is a great player.”

  1. ACM need to sign Florentino Luis young talented and the right price than Chelsea Babayoko older and expensive
ACM needs to build future and needs to be a step ahead of Juve, Inter and Atalanta for the new season signing players like Florentino is the answer

  2. I like Bakayoko but should be with reasonable price. Florentino is more potential. Beside Kessie showed great improvement and has high stamina. He doesn’t need a first team player to back up him. We also already have Tonali. if Paqueta doesn’t leave, we don’t need another midfielder since we also have Pobega
