Paolo Maldini, alongside Leonardo, spoke to the press after the presentation of Laxalt, Castillejo and Bakayoko.

On the Mercato: “The important thing now is to make the signings feel at home. We are doing a very good job in this aspect, now it’s about getting results as well.”

On what he’s most happy about: “It’s a new role for me, very different from my playing days. I was with the club for the friendly against Real Madrid and this was important for me. We hope that the club can get back to the levels of the past.”

On the objective: “It’s to improve from last season’s sixth-place finish, and to improve it by two positions would be fantastic. I have a good feeling about the squad.”

On Castillejo: “I’m very excited to see his performances, I like the way he plays and his style. I think he can be a great surprise for us.”

On the club: “There is a lot of pressure at Milan, but it’s also very special. It’s one of the clubs that have made great history. It’s our job to bring Milan back to that level.”

On the youth sector: “I’m also very focused on the youth sector here at Milan. I’m very pleased with the staff working there.”
