Di Marzio: Maldini and Massara meet River Plate president over lunch

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara met with the president of River Plate – Jorge Pablo Brito – to have lunch in Milano today.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, it was just a visit to meet old friends and further strengthen the already good relations with Milan after attending the Euroderby at San Siro on Tuesday night.

Brito also went to dinner with Adriano Galliani on Wednesday evening to meet another of his close friends, and then today he had lunch in the heart of the city with Maldini and Massara.

Brito is in Italy with Alessandro Moggi, but will return to Argentina in the next few days. As mentioned, they weren’t meetings strictly linked to transfer market negotiations, but to strengthen relationships between the management of two top clubs in the world of South American and European football.

Defensa Central reported earlier this week that Milan are competing with PSG and Real Madrid to sign 17-year-old River Plate playmaker Claudio Echeverri, who has been dubbed the ‘new Endrick’.

  1. Nonsense. You don’t have space for all the players in the world in one squad, and despite the obvious and endless fascination of argentinian footballers with spanish La Lega powerhouses, the boy and his representatives will certainly ponder about many other things.

  2. The New “Endrick”?

To be fair, I had to google who Endrick is, considering I don’t follow South American football.

Dude is 16. The guy linked is 17. How the older guy is the “new” version of a younger guy???

  3. Some on Ollie – the ‘new Endrick’! what does that mean?
Camarda will be 16 during next season – Much more exciting…
