Man Utd contact agent of Milan midfielder and offer 100% pay rise plus five-year deal – report

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United are very keen on landing Hakan Calhanoglu on a free transfer and are willing to double his salary to land him.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reported earlier in the week how there is a considerable distance between Milan and Calhanoglu over his renewal at present.

The Rossoneri have put forward an offer of €3million net per season plus bonuses, while the Turkey international wants about double that.

Although the player’s desire is to stay at Milan for a few more years and hopefully participate in the Champions League, Manchester United have prepared a five-year deal for the No.10 which would see him land a pay rise.

According to reports from Spain, United are indeed willing to double the midfielder’s salary, and their management are ‘seduced’ by the idea of being able to land a player of such quality on a free transfer.

The player’s agent Gordon Stipic has already been contacted by the Red Devils, the report claims, but after a season so far with four goals and three assists in eight official matches, at the moment Calhanoglu is not in the mood for compromise.

  1. This is another case where Utd’s name is dragged into a war between agents and the clubs that their players play for to get more money,Utd got Pogba, Fernandes,DvB,Mata, surely there can’t be any place for another attacking midfielder
