One of the few players exempt from criticism in what has been a disastrous season for AC Milan is Tijjani Reijnders, but this has attracted interest from abroad.
As Calciomercato.com report, flashes of Reijnders’ brilliance were seen during his first season with the club, the 2023-24 campaign. However, there were moments where his end product perhaps could have been a bit better.
That all changed with the arrival on the bench of Paulo Fonseca, who was good in this case at understanding that the former AZ Alkmaar player had to be freed from defensive duties, thus moving him forward to be the attacking midfielder.
A five-star season
Reijnders is integral to how Milan play. The Dutchman always thinks and plays vertically, raises his head and takes aim. It is why he has already scored 13 goals this season, and is the team’s second top scorer behind only Christian Pulisic.
These are impressive numbers that have brought him to the attention of clubs like Real Madrid. Los Blancos were struck by his performance on November 5, when Milan conquered the Santiago Bernabeu in a 3-1 win in which he scored.
However, at present Manchester City are the club most interested. Pep Guardiola knows that his team needs to revamp its midfield and has set his sights on the Milan star, who he sees as ‘perfect’ for the way he wants to play.
The price tag
Milan moved early on Reijnders, both two summers ago when they snatched him from competition from Barcelona, and a few weeks ago by announcing a renewal until 2030 with a pay rise to €3.5m net per season.
It was a move that to many seemed as though Milan were saying: ‘You are not moving from here, you are staying to help us relaunch the club’. Without qualifying for the next edition of the Champions League, things are more precarious.
The Rossoneri will have to resist what will be a strong temptation to raise money, because in England sources are convinced that Manchester City will put forward a €50-60m offer. Considering that Milan signed him for €20m, it would be tempting, like the Sandro Tonali case shows.
It is also a temptation that Tijjani himself will have to resist, but he has placed his trust in the club in a difficult moment. He will now also be interested in understanding what the new project will be.
50-60 it’s not huge…over 100 is huge and maybe we should consider…
Exactly. He is essential to club. Less than 100M€ should be “H3LL NO!”.
Love Reijnders but he’s nowhere near a 100mil player.
The point they are making is by sell a player for 50m when it would take 50m to bring in a player of the same quality. 100m would be tempting because they could get two top quality players for the price of one.
Not sure how you missed that?
If omar marmoush was worth 75m at Frankfurt than tijjani is certainly worth 100m or more
No he isn’t but to this team he is. Remove him and Pulisic from the team and we have a relegation battle team.

Tijani is a good player.. But for 100 m? No, he is not worth vthat much.. Not even tonali who won scudetto for milan and die hard of Milan. I think 70 m, cardinale will let him go.. And find 30-40 m replacement, may be Ricci of Torino..
Ricci is in no way a tijjani replacement and we need him or someone similar anyway regardless of if we keep tijjani or not
“But for 100 m? No, he is not worth vthat much.. ”
That’s the whole point!!! Sell him only if someone pays a hefty overprice. Keep if the offer is “correct market value”. He’s more valuable to us now than any other club.
He is our only functional midfielder.
75-80 mil euros if he wants to leave and play CL football.
City will gladly offer 50 millions for him because it’s peanuts to them and Gerry will gladly take 50 millions for him because that’s what he’s here for.
Agree bro. Last transfer window they bought Nico & marmoush with 100m pound. Wow very big money with players like that.
With no European football next season ( maybe ), offering from 50m up, would be nice. That mount isn’t problem with club like city. Milan have no money, Redbird isn’t like berlusconi.
Tijjani play like gundogan, someone who Pep admired so much. Very logically that football these day about business. Someone can come and go. Milan isn’t like 10 years ago.
Pep is looking for De Bruyne replacement who’s leaving at the end of the season and according to reports he’s set his sights on Tijji.
Pep doesn’t need to watch him play, he just saw the minutes he has been playing with few injuries and was sold…I suspect the goal of continuity with their schedule is something they would pay a lot for. It helps he’s incredibly talented.
50 mil is a joke though. 80 seems likely what the club would look for in the end..maybe they meet in the middle around 70…but that money means nothing to city. It will be interesting if he has a preferred destination because I suspect there will be offers on top of offers and a lot of teams who can pay that and more
Start praying to the football gods that the EFA finds City guilty of the some of those 115 rule breaches and at least bans them from making transfers for a couple of windows (I’m hoping for relegation)!
Ha as much as they deserve it no way will they get anything more than a slap on the wrist
The owners will use their oil money to “grease the wheels” and the investigation problem goes away.
I don’t think he will go, really if there will be offer for around 70-80m , its possible we sell him . But I think he wants to stay, he sign new contract just after 1,5 year in the club with not big pay rise… one year without CL is still okey, he is still young and has many years befor him
Whether its fortunate or unfortunate…that 70 mil + is coming…it’s not very much money to 5-6 English teams. Several playing champions league (or at this point in time, look like they will be). he is clearly a very good player and his ability to not miss games is very important…especially pep has had a lot to say about schedules. Teams want their Bruno Fernandez.
Yes , but this summer it will be different.. we will miss next CL , it’s logical we need stronger players and coach for finishing in top 4 next season.. i believe we will sell maybe 1-2 players from starting 11… but not all.. there is big possibility we will sell Theo and maybe also Leao wants to go to club with CL … that’s around 100-110m together… there is also possibility for selling RLC, Tomori, Musah and Royal… I think Raijnders and Pulisic and also Gimenez are only players we really wants to keep.
…just like they paid miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillions for Ricci… So much BS in the media.

coming in top 4 can depend on a lot of things…last year this group of players comfortably came in 2nd.
Giroud was lost, Florenzi was lost. Calabria was lost. Fofana was added. Abraham /. Morata / Jimenez were added. The team will finish the season giving up fewer goals than last season but scoring about 20 fewer. Scoring has been a problem.
I think the club would probably like to move on from Theo but it would take a very big number for Leao.
Let him go get the money he’s not that good.
