Rafael Leao

Daily Mail: Man City keeping an eye on Milan star and Napoli’s Kvaratskhelia

Manchester City are keeping an eye on Rafael Leao’s situation and could make a move to sign him in the summer, according to a report.

According to the Daily Mail, City are making big plans for the summer and they have both Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Leicester City’s James Maddison in their sights, but they also want an out-and-out winger.

They want a forward who can guarantee production and given that he has 14 goal contributions in Serie A this season, Milan’s Rafael Leao is ‘being closely monitored’ as is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Napoli.

There is no mention of a potential price tag or what the Premier League champions would be willing to pay for either player.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported this morning that renewal talks between Milan and Leao have stalled because of a disagreement over the release clause that would be inserted in his next contract, with the winger hoping to have it at €70-80m but the Rossoneri wanting to keep it at €150m or even remove it.

  1. They are all keeping an eye on Leao to sign him FOR FREE in about a year.
There is no mention for price tag because they will be signing him for free

    1. I’m not Leao’s biggest fan, but the man has 8 g and 5 assists.
He is on pace to have 16 g 10 a season. That’s a pretty good production.
We are not talking here about someone like Zaniolo 2 goals last season 1 g this season.
Wow, when I look at the Zaniolo numbers , if I was Cardinale and Maldin came to me to ask for 25-30 mil for Zaniolo’s production, I would have fired Maldini on the spot

      1. 5 last matches with 1 goal and VERY disappointing appearances on the pitch.

Guarantee production? Not really. Can get into the scoresheet every now and then? Sure. But we aren’t talking about a player who can be counted on.
