Manchester City are in active negotiations with AC Milan to try and close the deal for Tijjani Reijnders quickly, reports are claiming.
The rumours of City’s interest in Reijnders have been circulating for weeks now, but with the Club World Cup on the horizon and Kevin De Bruyne’s exit confirmed, they are now believed to be accelerating things.
Reijnders scored 15 goals in the 2024-25 campaign and was, in the eyes of many, Milan’s best player in a very difficult season. He was crowned by Serie A as the best midfielder in the league, which means the Rossoneri can demand a high price.
City pushing hard for Reijnders
The future of the Dutchman Reijnders is therefore increasingly uncertain, but MilanNews are reporting that he risks being taken away from Milan even sooner than one might have imagined.
Manchester City made an initial offer of €60m that has been refused, with Milan asking the Citizens to raise the bid. This has not stopped the English club, who remain in negotiations on Friday.

They want to close the deal immediately and have the former AZ Alkmaar available for the Club World Cup which will be played in the United States, starting in just a couple of weeks.
Fabrizio Romano confirms that negotiations underway between Man City and Milan for Reijnders. City made an initial bid worth around €60m including add-ons, which was rejected, but ‘negotiations are advancing’.
According to Radio Rossonera editor Simone Cristao, the Manchester club are conducting what they believe will be a ‘final assault’ for Reijnders. Talks have ‘accelerated in the last few days’ with negotiations ‘in the final stages now’.

120 mil minimum
If we sell him for 75-80 mil we can look to not replace him 1:1 but maybe for a top defender or midfielder with dif qualities and push Puli to the CAM role. That is if we assume Max will go with a 1 behind two strikers formation. If he sticks with a 433 they could also do with selling Tiji for that much but if he is thinking of a 3 in the back formation I don’t see how we could sell Tiji without needing to replace him 1:1 and it’s unlikely we find a true replacement for him this season. This all is a gamble as well if we assume they are thinking of turning Leao into a 2nd striker. Puli can play as a 2nd striker no problem so then we’d assume Milan would also sell Leao with that thought process. So, lots of possibilities, the worst case scenario for me is if they do sell Tiji and spread the funds out over 3-5 players, that would be disastrous.
They’re trying to strip us, like we are stripper club or like OF girls
They’re trying to cash in on a player after a good season because we should be able to reinvest the funds. Problem is, our ability to reinvest wisely hasn’t been great for the last two years.
Reijnders himself is a product of that philosophy though, he was bought with the Tonali money (and, whilst he’s added a lot going forward, it’s hurt our defensive ability to play with 4 2 3 1)
Tell them to pay 150 million
Højbjerg was sold for 80 million EUR last season from Atalanta to United as a striker with 9 serie a goals.
Tiji should be 100 million EUR MINIMUM to Man city. Not a cent less. Take it or leave it.
With Writz getting 150 I’d be very disappointed if they accept any below 80
Not against selling Tijji for 80+ but definitely more in favor of keeping him
Selling reijnders and replacing him ricci is guilty I’m disappointed already
This is so predictable.
When they do sell him they will say: he welcomed the move …
These clowns bought jack grealish for 120mil euros. Reijnders is worth 90 minimum
Exactly, they just want the player they do not care about the price, so if he has to go, it should minimum 100+
Rjeinders will do great for City if he goes there. I’ll be happy for him. But I really hope we use some money on a proper CDM. We haven’t had one since Kessie, and it was Kessie’s exit when we suddenly started downhill.
Don’t sell Tijji please,don’t sell leao please…
