Marca: Milan to open talks with Real Madrid over striker despite insisting on Giroud

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to open formal talks with Real Madrid over the potential signing of striker Luka Jovic, according to a report.

The Spanish newspaper Marca (via PianetaMilan) confirms previous reports from various sources by claiming there are talks planned between the Rossoneri and Real Madrid for the Serbian striker. It is the second straight summer in which Milan will try and sign the former Eintracht Frankfurt man, having failed last year.

Olivier Giroud has also been repeatedly linked with a move to Milan but he must free himself from Chelsea, but the report adds how the arrival of one would not necessarily exclude the other. Milan want to give Stefano Pioli two new strikers: a more experienced profile and a younger one, which matches the identikits of Giroud and Jovic perfectly.

Alvaro Odriozola is also listed as the main alternative to Diogo Dalot, for whom negotiations with Manchester United continue, finally midfielder Dani Ceballos is a profile that is liked for the midfield.
