Szymon Marciniak is the referee that has been designated by UEFA to officiate the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League between Napoli and AC Milan, it has been confirmed.
As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it write, Marciniak will be assisted by his compatriots Sokolnicki and Listkiewicz who will be the linesmen. The fourth official will be Nyberg (Sweden), with the Polish pair Kwiatkowski-Frankowski in the VAR room.
Marciniak has already refereed Milan once this year in the Champions League and that was during the group stages when the Rossoneri won 4-0 victory away against Dinamo Zagreb.
He had previously been the appointed referee for last season’s Champions League group stage game at Anfield against Liverpool, which ended in a 3-2 defeat.
Marciniak has been the referee three previous matches involving Napoli with two of them being draws against Salzburg (2019) and Red Star (2018), and a win against OGC Nice in 2017.
