Rafael Leao is yet to renew his contract with AC Milan but it seems the parties are quite close to reaching an agreement. Before the 0-0 draw against Empoli yesterday, Ricky Massara clarified the situation.
Milan have been in talks with Leao’s entourage, consisting of his lawyer and Jorge Mendes, for quite some time and an agreement is getting closer. Throughout the process, though, there have been some questions regarding who makes the decision.
Mendes has reportedly been pushing for an exit in the summer, while the lawyer Ted Dimvula is on the other side. Massara was asked about who calls the shots by Sky Italia and he responded that it’s Leao: “It is Rafa who has the final word,” he said as cited by MilanNews.
It remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached before the summer. If not, then Milan have already decided that they will sell the winger in the summer. As things stand, though, Rossoneri fans can still hope for a happy ending.
